It is so much harder to be an effective manager than most people believe. Many think it is simple to learn this skill through training and courses, though often coaching and regular guidance may be necessary. Effective managers need to be versatile and agile, adaptable and insightful, able and willing to constantly develop and grow. 

Their role requires them to be caring counsellors, enthusiastic motivators, admirable role models and articulate voices of the desired culture. 

They must be able to properly decipher, understand and then relate the vision of the organization to the employees so that productivity is maintained.

Essentially, the role of manager is to guide the organization toward goal accomplishment and inspire their employees to move towards the goals.

The front-line manager faces incredible stress often on a daily basis. Between managing a team, driving results, and answering to leadership’s expectations, managers are frequently juggling competing goals. It is vital that managers receive the training, guidance and coaching necessary to make them successful, and their teams strong and productive.
